Why Daily Flossing Matters | The Smile Factory

Why Daily Flossing Matters | The Smile Factory

Your brush bristles glide over the contact points between teeth, leaving the surfaces in between untouched. That is where decay and gum inflammation usually start.

How to floss well

  • Use about 45 cm of floss and wind most of it around one finger
  • Slide gently - never snap - between the teeth
  • Curve the floss into a C shape against each tooth and move up and down
  • Use a clean section for each gap

Any consistent technique beats an occasional perfect one. Water flossers are a good alternative for bridges, implants or braces, but they do not fully replace contact flossing.
